Interrupted In-App Purchase Confusion

With the introduction of iOS 7, Apple has implemented additional security measures in the iTunes App Store purchase process.  One security measure is requiring the customer to validate their credit card or identity information.  When this happens, the In-App Purchase process is interrupted and the end result can be a bit confusing.  This article should help you understand how to complete your purchase of Zamurai if this happens.

At first, the App Store determines that additional information is required, and you will see a screen similar to the following:

Tap “Continue” to proceed.  After you provide the additional info required by the App Store, you will be asked to confirm your purchase and you will see a screen similar to the following:

Assuming that you confirm the purchase, this is where it gets confusing.  Since the in-app purchase was interrupted by the App Store app you are left in the App Store, and you are left wondering “now what?”

At this point, you should switch back to the Zamurai app. You will see the original Store screen but with no indication that you purchased anything.  At this point, tap “Restore” in the upper left.  The screen will look similar to the following:

After the Restore has completed, you will see a screen similar to the following:

Now, your Zamurai purchase is completed and recorded in your iPad.
